Spring is almost here.... YEAH!

I know I said I would update more often but I just can't seem to remember to do it.
I have been doing pretty good physically. My eye doctor sent me to a specialist for macula degeneration because it had gotten prgressivly worse.
I went to see him a couple days ago and got some good news. The type I have is rare and should not get any worse then it is now.
Going to Lakeland Fl. tomorrow to a quilt show with a couple of friends. That should be a great day.
I promise I will try harder

Happy NewYear

Boy time sure does fly when you are having fun! This past year has not been great health wise. In April I haad to have surgery on my shoulder and then in December I had to have carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand. I get my stitches out on Wed. and I sure will be glad. I can't wait to put lotion on my hands. They are so dry.

My goals for the new year is to get all my ufo's and wip's done before I start any thing else. I sew on something everday but some times it just seems like I am not getting much accomplished.

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and a safe new year.

OMG

I can't believe it is December already. I have been so busy with making samples for the Quilted Lily that I haven't gotten any thing made for myself.
I went on vacation to Ohio the last two weeks in November. It was too long but yet too short. I had 3 thanksgiving dinners, got to spend some time with my friend Ann in Amish county. That was the only time that I got to do any sewing. The picture I'm posting is what I started while visiting with Ann. I finally got it finished today. sure seems like there was a lot of work to get it from sart to finish.
The other picture is of my oldest son Parnelli and his girls: Shelby (20) and Bailey (16). and then there is the visiters that we had in our back yard a weekk ago.
I am going to be having carpitunnel surgery on the 14th. then maybe I will be able to go without surgery for a while. I am going to try to update more often. I just need to slow down and do it atleast a couple times a month.

Fall is finally here.

I have been busy working on several different things since I last posted. I have a couple of pictures that I will post. Plus I have some great pictures of my sewing room.
The thanksgiving wall hanging is all needle turn applique. I have been working on it off and on for a couple months. I'm in the process of quilting it now, hen i will go to the Quilted Lily to hang in the store. The other is Bright Christmas by Patrick Lose. It is hanging in the store to help kick off Party with Patrick that we are going o start in November.
I have also finishe hand quilting my Liberty wall hanging I will post a picture after I get it hung.
Guess that is it for now. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fall is on it's way

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of fall. It is starting to cool down a little bit but when it decides to rain it is still very humid.
I have been very busy working on samples for The Quilted Lily. That is the quilt store that I go to twice a week just to get out of the house and I also teach class there occasionally.
I'm so looking forward to Thanksgiving. I am going to go to visit my kids and friends the last 2 weeks of November. I think I might have Michael talked into flying up after me and staying a week. I will be cooking dinner at Parnelli's house and then probably doing the following day at Mario's for left overs. I'm sure that it will be very cold (at least to me) while I am there. The last time I was there 6 years ago for Thanksgiving it was snowing.
I guess I had better get busy and try to at least put away the stuff I brought home from the quilt store.

Happy Birthday to ME

Today I turn 61. I can remenber a time when I thought 30 was old now I am way over that and so are my children.
I have been working on a few things. A Thanksgiving wall hanging for the store. I read the book "Aloha Quilts" and fell in love with the way they are made so I have started one of those. I am also knitting a hat and fingerless gloves for Mike. Yes it does get cold here in the winter.
My shoulder is doing better but due to some staph infections that I can't seem to get rid of I have not been able to continue my PT. I have been on antibiatics off and on for the last 2+ months and they are totally kicking my butt. They finally started me on one for Mersa and it has done the trick and I am starting to feel better.
We are having a lot of rain here, usually in the afternoon and evenings. Still in the 90's during the day so I don't go out side much. It just wears me down.
We are hopefully going to go to Ohio for Thanksgiving. I am so looking forward to it.
Well that is alll for now I will post some new pixs when I get something finished.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

I have been very busy since I posted last. Back and forth to the doctors and PT. Only one more PT appointment and then that is done.
I have been working on my niece's quilt. I have one more border to put on then I just need to make sure I have enough fabric for the backing. I have also done a couple samples for the store and have some others to get done before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I decided that I should sew together the DJ block that has been laying here for over a week. I have also been hand quilting my Liberty Garden wall hanging that I have had done since 2000.
I'm working on probably too many projects at the same time but I get bored so easily that I have to jump around. Eventually I will get something finished that belongs to me and not someone else.
It has been really hot here the past week. So I am staying in as much as possible. Busy week next week then everything should be back to normal. We are looking forward to our vacation in September.
Every one try to stay cool.
