Montage Medley

The local quilt store that I sometimes teach at comissioned me to make this as a sample for a new fabric line. It looks really hard but in truth it is not. There are no HST's. all the blocks are made from a 9.5 in. square. The design comes from the way it is laid out on the fabric. So all the squares are on the bias.

Took me probably two full days to make from start to finish. I think the hardest part was trying to figure out how to lay out the blocks.

Bailey will be arriving around 2:oo this afternoon. (Granddaughter_

My PT has been going great. Just one more week with the sling on then the hard PT starts. I haven't been able to do much since I can't use my hand, but I have started a Yoyo acent pillow that I saw in a magizine a few months ago and I have started working on my Dear Jane blocks again.

I started the DJ quilt in 2003 with a group of other women from an online group that we all belonged to. Margaret had a great idea for a support goup for us that have just put it away. Sometimes it helps to work on something that others are working on. Things go a little farther then they would have and you get the support for those days that everything seems to go wrong.

I have 92 center blocks done and 1 corner triangle. I have started working on the triangle blocks along with the rest of the center blocks since there seems to be about as many of them as center blocks. I will post a picture of what I have done maybe over the weekend. The bad thing about the blocks that I have left to do is that they are all paper pieced or done by hand. And anyone that knows me knows that I hate paper piecing.

Got to finish getting ready to leave for the airport. It is a 2 hour drive, my sister is driving me because I am still not allowed to drive that far on my own.

It has been almost 6 weeks since I had my shoulder surgery. Since I am not allowed to do any thing except PT there has not been any sewing, beading or anything else done. so I am getting very bored. I started doing some yoyo's today to make a throw pillow. It is going to be in black and white. Will post a picture after I get all of them made and start laying them out.

My Grandaughter Bailey and her friend Katie will be here in the 7th to stay for a month, so I have been doing what I can with one hand to get the room ready for them. That means shoving the quilt frame against the windows to make room for their bed. I am really excited about them coming. I'm sure we will have a wonderful time. I wll still be doing PT twice a week while they are here but that is not going to be a problem.

Well it has been a month since I posted anything. My health has not been great the last month. I am going for surgery in my shoulder next Friday the 29th. I am hoping that will take care of hat problem. My granddaughter Bailey and a friend are coming next month to spend a month with me. We are all excited about that.

I have been working on somethings including getting the red and black quilt done, took a beading cleass, gave a bargello class and I have been working on my bargello. I bouth the book when I was in Ohio last June. I am almost half way done.

Finally got this Christmas Block of the month almost done. Just can't decide if I should

put another border on it or not. Then just need to quilt it by hand. Bought this in 2004 in Lancaster, Ohio.

Boy does time sure fly. It seems like I haven't gotten much accomplished but I have been trucking along the best that I can when I can get a little bit of the pain under control.
The pictures I have added this time are of my first bargello and the next class that I will be teaching at the quilt shop in Vero. And a lighthouse curtain that a friend of mine wanted me to make for her.

I almost have my christmas BOM done. I have 3 more blocks to put the sahsings on then just need to put them together, add a border or two and quilt it.

I have been working since November on my Granddaughters quilt that she was to get for chrismas last but it has become the quilt form you know where. Hopefully I will be able to get it done soon.

Not much to report. We have had another cold winter, killing most all of our plants and one tree. I have daffidills popping up throught the ground, the cooler temps have been good for them. as soo as the bloom I will post a picture.

Finally finished cutting and sewing together the strips for my bargello quilt. I will start cutting for rows probably Monday.

Went to the pain management doctore on the 1st. he gave me a low dose of moraphine tablets to take for a month and sent me for an MRI of my right shoulder. Started taking the pills this morning but after 2 pills today still not much change. maybe it will take a few days to get in my system.

Will post pictures of the bargello when I start putting them together.

Still working on my block of the month christams quilt from 2004. only have 3 or 4 more blocks to go. will post pictures soon.
