Finished another one

This is a Halloween quilt sample that I made for the shop. I also did a table runner that I didn't take a picture of. I am going to change it up a little and make one for fall and Christmas.

Today I got out a UFO that I finished appliquing in 2003. It is the first applique wall hanging I had done. I have it pin basted and have started hand quilting it. Boy am I ever rusty when it comes to hand quilting. I have a DJ triangle cut out but haven't had enough concentration to work on it. Maybe in a couple days.

second consignment quilt

I am dropping this baby quilt off at the quilt store today. It is the second consignment quilt in 2 weeks. I can't wait to see what she might have for me today.

I have been working on my DJ blocks. Tuesday I got 2 blocks, 1 corner triangle and 2 triangles made. Last night I made another triangle and cut one out. It is about time I go excited about completeing something. I have made Tues. my DJ day. Wed is PT day and what ever I feel like doing and Thursday is working on other projects.

Girls are leaving

It doesn't seem possible that they have been here 3 weeks already. I hope that they had fun while they were here. There really is not a lot to do atound here that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

We will be leaving in a couple hours to go to Orlando to spend the night and maybe we will get to do something there before they leave tomorrow early afternoon.

Montage Medley

The local quilt store that I sometimes teach at comissioned me to make this as a sample for a new fabric line. It looks really hard but in truth it is not. There are no HST's. all the blocks are made from a 9.5 in. square. The design comes from the way it is laid out on the fabric. So all the squares are on the bias.

Took me probably two full days to make from start to finish. I think the hardest part was trying to figure out how to lay out the blocks.

Bailey will be arriving around 2:oo this afternoon. (Granddaughter_

My PT has been going great. Just one more week with the sling on then the hard PT starts. I haven't been able to do much since I can't use my hand, but I have started a Yoyo acent pillow that I saw in a magizine a few months ago and I have started working on my Dear Jane blocks again.

I started the DJ quilt in 2003 with a group of other women from an online group that we all belonged to. Margaret had a great idea for a support goup for us that have just put it away. Sometimes it helps to work on something that others are working on. Things go a little farther then they would have and you get the support for those days that everything seems to go wrong.

I have 92 center blocks done and 1 corner triangle. I have started working on the triangle blocks along with the rest of the center blocks since there seems to be about as many of them as center blocks. I will post a picture of what I have done maybe over the weekend. The bad thing about the blocks that I have left to do is that they are all paper pieced or done by hand. And anyone that knows me knows that I hate paper piecing.

Got to finish getting ready to leave for the airport. It is a 2 hour drive, my sister is driving me because I am still not allowed to drive that far on my own.

It has been almost 6 weeks since I had my shoulder surgery. Since I am not allowed to do any thing except PT there has not been any sewing, beading or anything else done. so I am getting very bored. I started doing some yoyo's today to make a throw pillow. It is going to be in black and white. Will post a picture after I get all of them made and start laying them out.

My Grandaughter Bailey and her friend Katie will be here in the 7th to stay for a month, so I have been doing what I can with one hand to get the room ready for them. That means shoving the quilt frame against the windows to make room for their bed. I am really excited about them coming. I'm sure we will have a wonderful time. I wll still be doing PT twice a week while they are here but that is not going to be a problem.

Well it has been a month since I posted anything. My health has not been great the last month. I am going for surgery in my shoulder next Friday the 29th. I am hoping that will take care of hat problem. My granddaughter Bailey and a friend are coming next month to spend a month with me. We are all excited about that.

I have been working on somethings including getting the red and black quilt done, took a beading cleass, gave a bargello class and I have been working on my bargello. I bouth the book when I was in Ohio last June. I am almost half way done.
